Project Overview
Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) is committed to enhancing sewer infrastructure to meet the needs of our growing community. The Highway 74 Sewer Extension Project involves installing approximately 9,475 feet of 16-inch sewer line along Highway 74, from Wasson Canyon Road to Richard Street.
Funded by over $12 million from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), this project will:
- Support future growth and development along the Highway 74 corridor.
- Improve groundwater quality by facilitating the transition from septic systems to sewer connections.
- Enhance the corridor between Lake Elsinore and Perris.
Construction is expected to be completed by Fall 2026.
What to Expect During Construction
Construction activities will begin in December 2024. Here’s what you can expect:
- Construction Hours: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Highway 74); 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Wasson Canyon Road)
- Traffic: Traffic will move in both directions, but short sections of northbound lanes may be reduced to one lane. Delays are expected; plan for extra travel time.
- Noise and Dust: Noise, vibrations, and dust may occur. EVMWD will minimize these impacts as much as possible.
- Access: Property access will remain available at all times.
We plan to complete construction quickly and efficiently. We will communicate promptly any changes to the schedule due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
