Ortega’s leadership and collaboration key to advancing water reliability and sustainability in Southern California
Lake Elsinore, CA—Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District (EVMWD) congratulates Adán Ortega, Jr. on his reelection to a two-year term as Chair of the Metropolitan Water District’s (MWD) Board of Directors. Mr. Ortega’s visionary leadership and commitment to advancing innovative water policies have been instrumental in addressing the significant water challenges facing Southern California, particularly in the context of California’s increasingly hotter, drier climate.
“Adán’s leadership has been a key asset in driving forward policies that support regional water reliability and sustainability,” said EVMWD Board President, Chance Edmonson. “His continued focus on collaboration will play a vital role in securing our water future. During his tenure, Mr. Ortega has been a strong advocate for regional collaboration and water efficiency initiatives, ensuring that local agencies, including EVMWD, are well-supported in their efforts to address water supply challenges. In May 2024, Mr. Ortega visited EVMWD and met with district leadership and staff to learn more about EVMWD’s unique needs and challenges.
