1. Select the month of the year. The month drives the water budget amount, winter or summer factor, daily service charge which is calculated based on the number of days in the month.
	2. Enter the number of persons in your household and the number of square feet of the irrigated area of the property. VMWD assigns all households a default number of 4 persons per household. Irrigated area is calculated in square feet and is an estimate of 60% of the nominal parcel size for one of 5 classes of users. Input a number of billing units used during that month. This can an amount you estimate or an amount you plan on using during that month . The average billing units per month for a single family residence is 20 billing units throughout the year. Water budgets allocate more outdoor water in the summer and less in the winter. Indoor water is calculated a 60 gallons per day per person in the household. 	3. The water budget graph shows a comparison of water budget vs water usage. Left bar of the graph shows your water budget compared to actual/estimated or planned water used on the right. The water budget (left) automatically adjusts up for summer and down for winter based on historic evapotranspiration rates for outside use.
	4. The water budget (My Budget) vs. water use ( My Use) monthly bill graph shows your actual water bill in dollars vs what your Budget is in dollars. In addition it shows the power charge of .28 per billing unit and the daily service charge . There are higher power zones uphill which have higher rates Zone Rate 1 $0.28 2 $0.41 3 $1.08
	Note: Water budget cost estimates apply to total use of water budget billing units. Customers who use less will pay less. Outdoor billing unit budgets are based on historical weather data within calendar months. Actual budgets will vary according to actual use, weather conditions and billing periods.
